Welcome to the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences
I'm going Swedish.
Although massage therapy is so ancient it seems timeless, the current world-wide awakening to its value in human health makes it an exciting field to be in today.
The Swedish Institute's College of Health Sciences offers a degree-granting program in Massage Therapy. Our faculty consists of some of the most experienced practitioners and teachers in the field, many of whom have pioneered the changes taking place today.
Massage Therapy
Founded in 1916, the Swedish Institute has the oldest Massage Therapy Program in the country. While the idea of using one's hands as a therapeutic agent of change has only recently received attention from the scientific community, throughout its history the Swedish Institute has endeavored to preserve the integrity of this ancient healing art, while also developing standards of practice to meet the demands of modern times.
Our program is registered with and regulated by the New York State Education Department and accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT). Successful completion of the course of study qualifies graduates who meet all other state requirements to sit for the New York State licensing examination in massage therapy.
Graduates of our Massage Therapy Program are eligible to sit for the National Certification Exam (NCE) given by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB).
