Midwest College of Cosmetology provides professional training courses in cosmetology and esthetics. In as little as 12 months, you can earn a Certificate in Cosmetology and have a good foundation in small business management and ethics. Upon completing the program you will also be prepared to pass the State Board Exam for licensure as required by the state of Illinois.
Since MCC's salon is a complete day spa, you will also be introduced to performing spa services on actual clients and will work with highly qualified instructors and state of the art equipment.
Cosmetology students can also work toward and Associates of Applied Science degree in Cosmetology through Lincoln College - Normal.

Esthetics
In nine short months you can learn the art of skin care and make-up application through professional techniques in a relaxed and professional environment. Day and evening sessions are available at MCC through a part-time, 750-clock hour esthetics program.
Through this program, you will earn a Certificate in Esthetics and will be prepared to pass the State Board Exam for licensure as required by the state of Illinois.
Since MCC has a complete day spa, your training includes classroom and hands-on learning. You will also be introduced to using the sauna, vichy shower, hydrotherapy tub, facial and body treatment rooms.
Esthetics students can also take additional coursework in science, business management, human resources, sociology, psychology, and accounting through Lincoln College - Normal.
Instructor Training
Do you like to be in front of a crowd or do you want to teach the techniques you know to students? Then you should consider a career as a cosmetology instructor. To enroll in the program, you must have a current license in cosmetology and a high school diploma or GED.
Full Instructor in CosmetologyThis program involves instruction in lesson planning, theoretical concepts, practical subjects, business methods, and even some education psychology.
500 clock hours if you have your Cosmetology license for 2 years or more. 1000 clock hours if less than 2 years.
