History
More than 70 years ago, the standards of excellence of jean Kurland and partner Madeline Brown blended to bring beauty and style to the Philadelphia area with their world-class salons. In 1987, these reputations and standards grew to include the opening of the Jean Madeline Education Center for Cosmetology. Today, the Jean Madeline Aveda Institute, with locations throughout the Philadelphia area, is both nationally and internationally recognized as among the finest in the world. In this comprehensive program, students will explore the latest styles and techniques in hair cutting, color and texture services, skin care, nail technology and makeup. From a foundation of theoretical knowledge, students will practice and perfect skills and learn professional business-building, retail knowledge and income-enhancing abilities.
EstheticsFull-time, 300 hours/10 weeks-dayPart-time, 300 hours/17 weeks-evening
In the Esthetics program, students study specialized techniques to purify, balance and renew skin. Through hands-on training, students will learn extensive business-building skills and retail knowledge while providing the foundation needed for a career as a skin care specialist.
ManicuringFull-time, 200 hours/7 weeks-dayPart-time, 200 hours/7 weeks-evening
Students will learn the science of nail technology and advanced learning experience designed to teach the theory and practical skills necessary to provide salon nail care services, as well as business development and retail knowledge.
Teacher's ProgramFull-time, 500 hours/17 weeks-dayPart-time, 500 hours/25 weeks-evening
Our Teacher-training program provides 500 hours of additional education designed to prepare candidates for licensure as cosmetology instructors and other advanced career opportunities.
Admissions
Jean Madeline is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts & Sciences and is eligible to disburse a full range of federal and state Student Aid to those who qualify. Amounts and types of aid vary depending on individual student circumstances. Contact the Financial Aid Office for more information. Jean Madeline will tailor payment plans to assist students and families in meeting tuition obligations.
