12020 Blue Ridge Boulevard
Grandview, MO 64030

Welcome to House of Heavilin Beauty Colleges

Our Mission

To produce well qualified graduates in the Cosmetology field that salons want to employ.

Our Goal

To produce graduates that are technically qualified, professional in attitude and habits and accomplished in the personal skills needed for success.

Who We Are

House of Heavilin Beauty Colleges are owned by Cheri Barnett and Jerry Heavilin (sister and brother). Cheri and Jerry are active in the day to day operation of the schools and are both involved in state and national Cosmetology related organizations.

House of Heavilin maintains memberships in The American Association of Cosmetology Schools, The Missouri Association of Cosmetology Schools, local Better Business Bureaus and Chambers of Commerce.

House of Heavilin colleges are approved by the Missouri State Board of Cosmetology, The National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts & Sciences (NACCAS), Veteran's Administration, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (JTPA, VR).

Most exciting of all....House of Heavilin is a Pivot Point Member school.

The schools were founded by George and Dorothy Heavilin in 1953.  House of Heavilin began with the goal of training highly qualified Cosmetologists and we have attempted to maintain a level of education that over 2,500 graduates can be proud of.

Programs

Cosmetology

  • This program is designed to prepare you for licensing as a Cosmetologist.  You will be trained in haircutting for ladies and men, hair design and finishing techniques, long hair design, permanent waving, color design and communication skills.  A small portion of the class also covers basic manicuring and skin care.  It is a 1500 clock hour program, as required by the Missouri State Board of Cosmetology.

Instructor Training

  • The Instructor Training Program at House of Heavilin is designed to prepare you for licensing as a Missouri Cosmetology or Nail Tech Instructor. The program consists of 600 hours. These hours can be reduced by up to 300 hours for your experience as an active practitioner.

Financial Aid

We use the FAFSA, which is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.  The application is used to apply free for federal student grants and loans.  Funds are provided, if you qualify, by the U.S. Department of Education.  We can assist you in filling out this application.
