After I touched on the topic of maternity massage in my last post, I started thinking about the huge impact professional massage therapists can have on their clients. This can be such a rewarding profession. If you have strong hands and a heart that wants to give people the gift of relaxation and, in some cases, nonsurgical relief from pain, you might want to enroll in

massage therapy school or choose a general cosmetology school that includes courses in massage.

I don’t have a crystal ball, but I doubt that people will become less stressed in the future. If anything, life just keeps getting more and more stressful. Today people of all ages and in all walks of life depend on their weekly massage to help relieve the stress from a busy workday, a tough schedule of midterm exams or a routine of chasing kids around the neighborhood.

The medical benefits of massage are even more vital to many people. Your massage therapy school training can provide the skills to improve a client’s circulation, flexibility, digestion, muscle strength and more. Your work truly can give people a higher quality of life. Check back, because in a future blog I’ll get specific about the medical conditions that lead doctors to recommend massage therapy. But the cool thing about this career is that you can work in either a medical facility along with doctors and nurses or in a salon/spa with estheticians and hairdressers. You can even do both.
